It looks like the slides reference Figlerowicz's work.

I've heard rumors that the data is showing population continiuity. Again, I'm not sure I'm reading those charts correctly but it looks like the Iron Age and Medieval populations of Poland match... I wonder what the story is with the Y-DNA of these samples...

Interestingly, Thietmar of Merseburg described "Nemzi" as "eo quod a nostris olim sitcondita, dicta" (Niemcza is called like that because it is, according to reports, founded by our people).



Skulls from Pruszcz Gdanski (Germanic people/Goths?) and Niemcza (possibly German settlers?) are similar, while skulls from Eastern Poland (perhaps Venethi?) are quite similar to those of Medieval Western Slavs.

I emailed the National Science Center (that is running this project). Apparently the project "ends in December 2020. National Science Centre will publish results of this project after evaluation of the final report."

So no results until 2020?

National Science Center is not running this project. They are only funding the project, and since the funding ends in December 2020, they expect to get the final report shortly thereafter (and this report will include both the financial report and the detailed description of all scientific accomplishments). Since the entire project includes many specific aims, some partial results might be published before the project ends, and this is what the project leaders are indeed going to do with the results for the Roman times and Piast period. The other part that includes the results for the Piast dynasty is apparently going to take much longer, so they will probably publish it later.

Surprise - according to dr hab. Tomasz Kozłowski from University of Toruń, male's members od The Piast dynasty were R1b !

Do you know what their autosomal DNA and mtDNA were?

As I know, they determined only Y DNA Haplogroup
