    23andme v5 Y-DNA SNPs

    Someone sent me a v5 file yesterday. I converted the Y-DNA SNPs that have a call and I made a spreadsheet and I uploaded it here.

    I think some people will be happy with the 23andme v5 upgrade. I look forward to seeing some people showing positive for some of the SNPs that are included once they get a 23andme v5 test. I'm disappointed that P312 has a no-call and Z195 and Z196 aren't included.

    If anyone else that has their 23andme v5 file and would like me to give them a list of their positive and negative results send me a PM.

    Note: I made the spreadsheet using a combination of a v5 raw data file from 23andme and the Ybrowse csv file from http://ybrowse.org/gbrowse2/gff/ that was available 2017-08-08. The column names are # rsid, position, SNP, Ancestral, Derived, Longhand Haplogroup (2017-08-08). The Longhand Haplogroup column is sorted A to Z.

    This is very nice. Or would be... I see in your spreadsheet many SNPs for my Haplogroup:

    rs2566671 5755550 L2/S139 C T R1b1a1a2a1a2b1
    i701652 28462237 Z49 G T R1b1a1a2a1a2b1c
    i705254 2665967 S8183 G T R1b1a1a2a1a2b1c2
    i705674 17760314 Y4353/FGC20796 T C R1b1a1a2a1a2b1c2b1
    rs767352895 8356636 FGC20774/Y4354 T C R1b1a1a2a1a2b1c2b1a
    i706186 6707665 Y4355/FGC20777 A G R1b1a1a2a1a2b1c2b1a1
    i701677 2842598 Y14088/FGC20775 T C R1b1a1a2a1a2b1c2b1a1a

    But 23andMe reports:
    Petr, your paternal haplogroup is R-L2.

    What's wrong?

    The raw data file shows:

    rs2566671 Y 5755550 T -> L2
    i701652 Y 28462237 -- -> Z49
    i705254 Y 2665967 T -> S8183
    i705674 Y 17760314 C -> Y4353
    rs767352895 Y 8356636 C -> Y4354
    i706186 Y 6707665 G -> Y4355
    i701677 Y 2842598 C -> Y14088

    So apparently 23andMe tests SNPs from new Y haplotree but uses some very old haplotree for interpreting the data.

    It is very frustrating that 23andme doesn't use an updated Y haplotree to interpret the data making the spreadsheet that much more useful for those wanting to check their results. Have you reported the problem to 23andme? The sooner more people report the problem the sooner they will fix it.

    Yes, it is. In their Scientific Details: https://you.23andme.com/reports/pate...group/details/ I found even more complete haplotree

    23andme-haplotree.png

    but A1168 - 6404480 and FGC31474 = Y4356 are not tested.

    I reported the wrong haplogroup determination to 23andMe.
