    [ReadMe] The Vault: Anthrogenica's Repository

    Dear members,

As outlined here, we are happy to announce the launch of The Vault, which can be located at the top of the Miscellaneous section:

Several years ago, our member "Anglecynn" suggested Anthrogenica host an online space for members to contribute, share and view resources pertaining to genetics and anthropology. We have now implemented his suggestion through The Vault, which is hosted on Google Drive. To minimize the likelihood of breeches to both our terms and Google's own policies, The Vault will only be made available to "Gold" users.
    Purpose and Terms of Usage
Gold subscription class members are free to use the repository as they like - There is no obligation in terms of usage. It is intended as a collaborative space for our regulars to download, upload and refer to per their convenience.

The following terms apply to activity in The Vault:

    • As stated in our recent announcement, of our registered users, only Gold subscription members have any access to The Vault. Members of the administration also can access it.
    • We have granted our members editing privileges to maximize their autonomy within The Vault. Please do not modify the structure of The Vault's sections. If you would like to add a specific subsection, please contact an administrator. Similarly, if you accidentally modify the repository's structure, please again contact an administrator, who will correct it.
    • Materials behind paywalls, or any materials which are not legally distributable online, are not permitted to be stored within The Vault at any point in time. Per section 4.5 of our Terms of Service (ToS), members found to be uploading paywall, ilicit or otherwise illegal material will be stripped of their Gold subscription status without reimbursement. Please check the viability of your upload before contributing it to the repository!
    • As The Vault is within a Google Drive, you will require an individual Google account to have any access to The Vault.

    How To Access

    1. Acquire Gold subscription class status.
    2. Click on "The Vault" section title within our "Miscellaneous" section
    3. Request permission to view The Vault
    4. Wait for confirmation from The Vault's administrator-run Google account (normally within two working days, if longer message an administrator on-site please)
    5. Done!

Could we please have sub-folders set up in the Anthropology: Cultural section to follow those in the forum?:
    General Sociology/Ethnology
    Archaeology (Prehistory)
    History (Ancient)
    History (Medieval)
    History (Modern)
    Psychology
    Linguistics
    The Arts
    Law and Criminology

Same for Biological Anthropology would probably help too, to avoid having to create them later when there is more material there to sort into subsections.

Here you are. Documents in the French language are in the International: French section.

The Vault is scarcely populated yet. It is up to users to do that. I have thousands of papers to go in there, but that won't be done overnight. I have just put the French language ones that I happen to have in there quickly to give you an idea of what is possible.

I know that there is no Spanish section in the International area of the forum, but could we possibly have one for Spanish language papers in the vault?

Pathogens are probably best off going into "Natural Sciences".

Will undertake the above as requested shortly.

Could we perhaps have subsection under Natural Sciences? :

Geoscience - I have climate papers to go here.
    Pathogens
Isotopes? - Human and Animal. Should these go in here?

Thank you. But you did not create a subfolder for isotopes. Not a good idea?

    • I will leave it to the resident specialist in linguistics to decide whether or not the linguistics category needs subclades, and if so, what they should be.
    • Similarly I expect an archaeologist or two will have ideas about how best to subdivide the archaeology section as that gets bigger. By period or geography? Or just leave it and let people use the Google search function?
    • Also I will leave it to the specialists to decide whether they want subclades for papers on individual haplogroups.
