    Haplogroup Q in Pashtuns

Anybody have any knowledge of Q-L68 or even Q-L275 showing up in tested Pashtun populations?

Not sure but I have two (I'm assuming) Pashtun relatives on 23andme listed as Q1* and Q1b (Q-L275) respectively.

Nice, I should get my results for 23andme soon so maybe I'll come across them.

I think Haber et al 2013 paper on afghan y chromosomes found high frequencies of Q in pashtuns from Qandahar .They were mostly Q(xMEH2,M378) .

    AdamYZ,
If you haven't seen this already I think this is the paper that BMG is talking about. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3314501/ See table S2. I'm sure your Y DNA will have more refined testing done than these samples. The paper is from 2012.

Yes it does! Hopefully more will be found soon, or more in depth testing/analysis on samples that have already been collected. The most up to date information you will find would be in Vladimir's paper. Which I'm sure you have read by now.

Then they were likely Q-Y1150 (ISOGG Q1b2)? The only customer-submitted example that YFull has for that clade is from Poland. Notice that the Polish and Punjabi lineages diverged only 2900 years ago. That time estimate is based on very sparse data, though.

Just for clarification: YFull puts Y1150 and L68 at the same phylogenetic level. So for example, the aforementioned Pole is listed by FTDNA as Q-L68. YFull probably prefers the Y1150 name because L68 also occurs at the I2 haplogroup level.

    AdamYZ,
I hope you don't mind me putting this in your thread, and if you want it deleted let me know. The Haplogroup Q myGroup feed had that they are trying to fund a Big Y test for one of the Q1b Tatars who is Q-L68. Maybe some of the members of Anthrogenica would like to contribute to study this subclade further. Even just $5 would be great if enough people donated. https://www.familytreedna.com/group-....aspx?g=Q-YDNA Make sure Q-M242 is highlighted. They can specify it is for Q1b Tatar under donation.
