Nice results. Do some Iranians get South Central Asia and others Central Asian 2?

    Observations:

1- S European scores were relatively uniform at around 17%, with the Turkish Kurd expectedly a little higher at 23%. This likely represents shared ancient EEF ancestry with Sicilians/Sardinians and possibly some post-Roman geneflow

2- SC Asian scores except for 1 ranged from the mid 20s to mid 30s. C Asian 2 may be correlated with E Asian admixture. Being personally familiar with the Kurmanji Kurds from N Iraq this seems to correlate well with phenotype as well. Kurd-Kurmanji 2 who scores high SC Asian (35%) is much darker than Kurd-Kurmanji 1 and very much resembles Pakistani Pashtuns, whereas Kurd-Kurmanji 1 who scored high C Asian 2 has is much lighter and has more Tajik like facial features. I had posted a photo of Kurmanji 2 in the pigmentation thread.

I have data from 8 Feyli Kurds, Mfa, Znertu, Halgurd which I can easily run. The only ones I ran as test samples were a couple of Feyli Kurds and Kurd C1 C2 C3. They all had comparable Caucasus scores of around 20%, although I realize that Kurds from Turkey can score higher Caucasian but that’s normal and is consistent with geography and local populations

For me I can see NorthWest European and Scandinavian making sense, but the Scandinavian seems too high at 32%.

Kurd C1 and K1 are the same.

Kurd N is Znertu. You'll notice that he also scored 34% (SC + C Asian 2), which is similar to some of the Iraqi Kurds I posted on the previous page. With the K24 he may score a little different but I don't expect more than a couple of %. His Caucasian is also 35%, which is not much different from the other Kurds on the previous page. His GenePlaza results will be a little more accurate since these were batch processed.

Adam, you always have the most interesting questions Frankly, I'm not sure. I would have to run 10 or 20 Kurmanjis from Dohuk to get an idea what the average is. However, I can tell you this. He is a distant relative of both C2 and C3, and clusters close to them on all tests. On most tests he has 1% or so higher SW Asian than K1, here his SC Asian + C Asian 2 is comparable to Kurd K1.

You may also remember he has the highest shared drift with the Volga river Scythian from the Kurmanjis and Feylis for that matter

You should see what you get with the update, because a significant number of outliers were further identified in most clusters and removed, which makes a difference in a tricky test where the component FSTs are so close to each other.

Speaking of which I need to have a 2nd look at the C Asian2 and SC Asian cluster to make sure that all outliers have been identified.
