You're not the only one who caught a mood boost from it. Lazaridis et al 2016 was the same story last June, haha.

I could try and make it a jpeg or something but that'd take too much work and this is way simpler.

    Could you please explain?
The Mycenaeans were IE speaking, right?

The Mycenaeans were Greek-speaking. Probably the first Greek-speaking culture in Greece proper.

Finally ! But I was hoping for more samples, I think they couldn't extract enough dna from many samples. It doesn't help us confirm the origin of R1b and R1a in Greece. The results are in line with what I was I expected even if I thought there would have been a bit more steppes ancestry in Mycenaean.

From looking at that ADMIXTURE run the clusters seem like this at K=17:

Purple: peaks in Bronze Age Anatolians
Pink: peaks in CHGs, Iran_Ns and that Hotu-Cave forager from Iran
Red: peaks in EHGs, WHGs and the like
Blue: peaks in EEFs and ANFs

In turn, the Minoans are made up of the blue, purple and pink clusters while Myceneans show a little bit of the red one. Seems like a somewhat funky run once you get to K=17 and I'll be more interested to see 3rd party runs and qpAdm from David and the like but I suppose that's interesting.

    Some extra figures:

To conclude a steppe origin of IE from this is not even a fringe science.

Minoans are thought to be non-IE while Mycenaeans have long been linked to the arrival of Greek speakers. If Mycenaeans are similar to Minoans except that Mycenaeans carried ancestry related to EHG, then that supports a steppe origin for PIE, no?

Especially considering that the Minoan period Cretan from Armenoi has more steppe than the Mycenaeans.
